About BuildOnDesk

BuildOnDesk is a small maths helper for home construction and repair numbers in India. We are not a contractor, not a paint dealer, not a tile shop. We only run formulas you can check yourself — room area, tile count, paint litres, brick estimate, cement bags rough.

Why this site exists: when you stand in a tile shop in a Rajasthan town or call a painter in Jaipur, people ask “10 by 12 room me kitni tile” and they want a number, not a essay. Mistri give a number from habit. Brand coverage change. Wastage change. So the tool here show the formula on screen. You type length and width. You see the estimate. Then you talk to the shop with that number in hand.

Every result on BuildOnDesk is labelled estimate. Doors, windows, steps, pattern cutting, primer brands, plaster thickness — all these move the real buy. Site engineer and your painter still win the final call. Tools stay free and run in your browser. We do not sell your room sizes. There is no login and no database of your projects.

If a calculator looks wrong, email hello@buildondesk.com and tell which tool and what numbers you typed. We fix maths when we find a bug. We do not visit sites. We do not quote labour. We do not recommend one cement brand over another. Coverage numbers you type are yours. Default paint coverage is marked typical 10 sqm per litre because many Indian interior paints sit near that, but your tin may say different.
